Default killer pin

Hi all I been hearing about this killer pin every now and then, but can't seem to get more imfo on it. Can someone tell me what this is about and how can I remove it, for I hear it can do severe damage to the engine.

it is a pin located behind the timing cover that is a line up dowel pin it will come out and destroy your timing gear housing you cant remove it but you can buy a kit that has a tab to keep it from falling out also while you are in there pull all the bolts that hold the timing cover on and and locktite them
