Default transmission hiccup

so; i'm down in VA after the trucks first large scale maiden voyage... about 19mpg and driving around traffic and making sure to "reserve" my spot in traffic the truck has a little hiccup from 2nd to 3rd... the trans seems to slip severely; almost like a wheel comes completely off the ground an all drive is lost... it's only done it twice; idk if the truck is getting confused about whether or not to hit 3rd or stay in the kick down.... kinda acts like its gulpin air but fluid level is fine... thinkin i needa quit gettin on it hard until i can get a shift kit in it

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

the truck has a pretty fresh rebuild on the transmission and to my knowledge a slightly lower stall convertor... no specific brand name i dont think; just w/e my transmission guy sells

yeah, i'm thinkin a shift kit will fix the problem... i just dunno if the 727 gasser shift kits work with the 727 diesels. i believe they do; we'll see... i gotta do something b4 the old girl eats this transmission

i dont know if ya got the money or not, if your like me then you dont, but a new valve body is better then just a shift kit, so ive been told, im stupid and buy other stuff when i could get the valve body, but thats the way id go.

i'd go with the valve body too, if they made the appropriate one for my truck... i had a chat with RSWORDS and he's running a full manual VB, they dont actually made an improved VB for the diesel 727 trans, i guess the governor presures are wayyy different; which i can understand... so i'm stuck with the 60-80 buck improver instead of the "fix"... it'll probably suit my needs until i come across a 47rh for a decent price

Georend makes a nice valve body for the trans. Have you checked the kickdown cable. I have a bolt in the very back of mine that way when I have the skinny pedal down it kicks in a little harder and I don't have to worry about it shifting in and out.

yeah, they had the cable wayyy tight... wouldnt shift out of 1st, ya actually had to release the pedal b4 it'd shift... i need to tighten it up just a hair and find a way to extend 2nd... i'm hittin high gear at 35 mph....

i havent check with goerend yet... i dont have that kind of money... i figured all of that GREAT stuff would be slammed in the truck along with the 47RH

I would adjust it to factory specs and call it good. There is a write up on here on how to do it correct.
