steering gear seal
Hi all
The other day I noticed power steering fluid leaking from what looks like the top of the steering gear where the shaft goes in, my question is can I change the seal their without taking the gear off.
Or what would be the best way to deal with this leak, any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks phil

you can get the top seal kit from the dodge dealer. only prob is that more can come out than just the seals durring the repair (i.e the spool valve) after i put everything back together the steering would pop and eventually act like it "unscrewed" and ultimately had had replace it... if you dont have much knowledge about a saginaw steering box... find someone that could reseal it for you. other than that the steering box will be the better part of 180 sum bucks plus core. idk. you may have better luck with it and there may have already been something wrong with my steering box prior to taking it loose
