odd sound from my 1990 motor

the valve specs are .10 intake and .20 exhaust and make sure 100% that you are at top dead center! can cause truck to misfire if not done right

i have all the gauges and none of them changed. the engine sound just changed, making that odd sound, truck lost 5mph almost instantly, then about 40 seconds later it went back to normal and has been fine since. very weird i think. and thank you very much for the specs. im sure its never ever had the valves re adjusted, when i rebuilt the trans it was way loose upon disassembly so i dont think the trucks been serviced serviced until i got it and started building it.

Could have had a lil water in the fuel. Was the tank low when it happened?
