this truck , under wot will die like its out of fuel and stall, wait a couple minutes and it will fire back up and run good up through gears until you give it wot, it will start smoking white smoke and all over again, dies and stalls , 1997 truck has 300k stock , manual tranny transfer pump or injecters????

 

I'd guess lift pump get a fp guage

 

Wrong forum, 98.5 will set a trouble code for injection pump. turn the key from off to on, off to on, off to on and wait for codes to appear at the digital odometer

 

That only works on 2000 + models.
