Ah that's not too much of an issue, I rarely do any pulling. I think I can deal with a bit of grab, as long as it holds the power . One thing that did confuse me a bit is the fact that the twin plates hold roughly the same , sometimes even less power, how does that work out :/ !
My 6 month old Valeo stocker only lasted 5 days of holding with the smarty on #4 grrr!

Its all in the material used to make it. Some dual disc are organic and some are ceramic. The ceramic will hold more power but will be grabby. The best for towing is an organic dual disc.

The hp ratings are important, but its just as important as what you use your truck for, towing, drag racing, sled pulling etc...... or maybe how your driving habits are mild or wild. Clutches are rated fully engaged, torque applied until they slip. The manufacturer decides where to set it based off that or its application. If you want a clutch to hold 500hp no problem, but do you also want to pull a 30k trailer, you may need a different clutch. Usually if you dont abuse your clutch, you can get by with less of a clutch.

Hi Valair, good post.
I would like to get your opinion, since you offer some high performance clutches.
What is your opinion of the LuK Pro Gold Performance 12-1/4"?
I'm only mildly modified, so I don't need a real high performance clutch.
People who need a high performance clutch are well advised to shop with Valair, but what about someone like me who wants just a heavier duty clutch, is the Pro Gold a good choice for me?
Any guesstimates as to HP/Torque holding capacity and longevity in general on the LuK gold?
Have heard some good results from guys pullin 15-19k pounds up hill in 4th gear who floor it and have absolutely no slipping.

Thank you in advance any advice you can offer.
And just so people understand, I am not trying to take away business from anyone, Valair is still the place to get a high performance clutch.
I want more of a heavy duty replacement with some increased capacity.

no I dont really have to much info on the LUK pro gold, with that being said, they are the oem manufacturer, and have a good reputation. I would say if you stay within the limits adevertised you should be fine.
