some things to consider, all of our flywheels come with a heavy duty roller bearings, all of our pressure plate have ductile donuts in them custom made for us, not an off the shelf item, we only use USA made Velvetouch buttons and chrome vandium valve quality springs tested to 3M revolutions.
Yes some clutches look the same, but doesnt mean they are.

other things you might consider would be service after the sale, tech support etc.... I'm not bad mouthing anyones product, just stating facts.

ask those suppliers how theirs stack up.

Luke, that's enough dude. I already got the point from your rude private messages.
You can't get upset and complain when someone doesn't buy!
I'll personally NEVER do business with you because of that. I SAID THANKS BUT I'LL PASS and that should have been the end. Hounding someone who isn't ready to buy will cost you that customer every single time.
What you ought to say is 'SIR, thanks for considering our company, please keep our company in mind and feel free to personally contact me if you have any questions'
That approach works, being rude and belittling customers is exactly the opposite of how to run a business. Look at how Valair responded, he politely stated his case and articulated why their product is quality, all without being negative or bad mouthing other products.

Valair, thank you for taking the time to post and provide detailed info about your clutches.
I have no doubt y'all provide an excellent product, and I also recognize the importance of service after the sale.
My comment was regarding imported clutches I've found sold by many parts resellers for crazy mark-up when I can sometimes get it for half the price.
Your company and a select few are the exception, you modify and upgrade the clutches to offer a custom product.
I certainly appreciate an American made (and Texas made) product, and after reading that information I will look into a Valair clutch before I make my purchase.

So how is trying to help you from buying junk is rude? I tried to tell you that your info was incorrect but you wouldnt listen. Telling me I sale imported clutches with marked up prices is rude.

Try doing your home work next time you question someones business practices.

I was hoping you would be nice, but I suspected you might keep on and I was right.
Haven't you hounded me enough, I'm not going to be your customer so just drop it.
Look at it this way "DAWG", I am considering my options carefully- I look for quality at a value.
Please drop it, you are not being helpful.
I've run several businesses with success, my suggestion is to focus on learning how to communicate with customers and being professional. It IS a learning process. I don't care if you drop ship 100% of your product, copping an attitude with a customer will cause you to lose every time. You want my money but tell me everything else is JUNK!

If you want to put junk in your truck thats cool man. Ask anyone on here. The only clutches you put in a diesel are either South Bend, Haisley Machine, or Valair.

I can sale you a Center Force for about that price. But I wouldn't put one in my truck.
"Sale it" to someone else please.
You're too dogmatic, diesel dawg.
Speaking of homework, rather than attack peoples choices try explaining the specific differences between the two products.
Valair demonstrated this perfectly, that is how you talk to people, and I'm going to pull up their website right now.

I'm not the only one that sales good diesel clutches. You can buy from who you feel comfortable with. I just was trying to tell you that those clutches you posted were junk. Sorry if I came across the wrong way as that was not my intentions.

I have lots of customers that bought similar clutches to find out there no better than their stock clutch.

Luke

"All of those clutches you quoted me are made over-seas.
They all are, they are simply re-branded by the various companies.
I will probably get a cerametallic LUK 13" 1-1/4 and new flywheel.
Just because I can find the exact same clutch cheaper than a clutch re-seller does not mean it's junk, it's the same part!

The clutch business is one of those businesses that can be a little confusing/misleading.
They often make up their own part number and simply charge the consumer more money for the same part. If they advertised the part # a simple google search would show the same clutch for less"

In reality, how many people have access to the original part numbers to search the clutches. Most people search their truck, model; year; and add any other descriptive characters that they feel would get them what they're looking for. And like you stated, it's a big ol goose chase, everyone is able to implement their own part numbers if they feel like it. Still a very good possibility that a proper search could find a quality clutch at half the price, but even then... Now a days who's going to believe its legit anyways? live and learn, personally I pay a little extra for quality and have found that added cost doesn't always mean the best. As for a clutch, I like my peace of mind. That's one thing I think I'd want to pay a little more for. Good luck

I hear ya tower, most people are not willing to put in the work to find a deal. I am.
Right now I'm looking at a LuK clutch that retails for $600, found it for a little over $300 shipped. It is a Cerametallic 13" upgrade clutch that can handle some torque.
Made in Germany. It is a 750 dollar clutch kit, I sourced it for 520 shipped.

Or I may buy the 12-1/4 Pro Gold Performance clutch, many people have had good luck with those.
Found that out the door for a little over $200, retails near $400.
I'll save about $175 just on the clutch, and the flywheel is $100 instead of $210.
Total cost for this setup will be right at 300 dollars shipped, it is a $575 dollar clutch kit.

Ye of little faith.
By the way, these clutches by LuK exceed OEM specs by 30-60%.
LuK is one of the largest OEM clutch providers, they are quality.

WIll let you know what i decide!
Oh, also installing new slave cylinder. Going to be brave and bleed the system rather than replace the entire thing.

That's the same clutch I installed in my 01. Great clutch but extremely grabby. If you tow at all I would go a different route. Ceramic/Kevlar would be better if you tow.
