Fuel plate slide okay or bad for tranny?
I dont have any gauges so by doing this how can I stay in the safe zone on my egt, Fuel temp. so by sliding the plate up and turning the star wheel a couple times. Will this be to much with out having gauges? I just dont want to get ahead of myself and hurt my ol truck. I will be doing a striat pipe but just 3" just a free easy project cut out my muff. Got a nice tip to add on as well. I do have a S&B full cold air intake. so I guess Im asking if I should hold off tell I get gauges or If I can do it at a safe setting? thanks guys for the help...
as long has you use just the stock plate and have at least a after market air filter in the stock housing you will be perfecly fine i ran mine that way with no gadges for a long time and when i finally got gauges the highest temp i got to was 12oo deg.
If thats all your doing you should be ok, but as a footnote I know of two guys who melted their pistons taking their plates out, but they were kinda rough on their engines, gauges would only help.
