The allen bolts will work, but just not as well as studs. O-rings are picky about being torqued and re-torqued and having even pressure around them. The studs are a little stronger and and a little more accurate, you need that little "extra" that studs give you.
The re-torqueing is not good for the bolts either. There's not much of a twisting effect on the studs while torqueing, but there is on the bolts. That can degrade them over multiple cycles.
