Any transmission gurus in here?
I'm working with DTT to get my truck to shift right and they're being very helpful, but instead of keeping them on the phone and talking their ears off trying to get me to understand my options, I figured I'd post in here.
Here's what it's doing. At WOT it will upshift from 1-2 at 3000rpm but won't upshift2-3 until I let off some. I can adjust my TV cable ever so slightly but then it shifts 2-3 at 2400rpm ebile 1-2 is still perfect. Now under normal city driving and very light driving the 1-2 shift is perfectly timed for my tastes, but the 2-3 shift is a little early and can come as low as 20mph or so. Under light throttle 3-4 is way early coming at 25-30 mph. I can get it to shift a little later but I have to give it a good amount of throttle and it's too much for my tastes. It seems to just load too much in the higher gears without downshifting also, though when to the floor it will downshift all the way to 2nd at 50-55mph and just sit at 3200rpm on the governor without shifting.
I can adjust the TV cable tighter to get the part throttle shifts higher like I like them and it will be perfect in every throttle position except WOT. I've adjusted the line pressure down some where it was at83-84psi at 750rpm in gear, now it's at 79-80psi but at the same time I adjusted the Minimum TV to have a small preloaded because it wasn't even touching before. Adjusting the min TV surely bumped the idle line pressure a tad. I was told that normally they like to have 72-74psi at idle so I may still be a little high.
Any ideas on what I need to do to get it shifting like I like it? What tricks are there that I might be able to try?
