how do ya know when the over flow valve is bad or weak what are the symptons of one thats bad or weak.

low RPM miss/instability
white smoke
hard starting
engine dies at idle (especially when hot)
low power
fuel filter cracking

But i've been told that they go bad over 'x' amount of miles, and since my stock one has 256k miles I'm thinking its overdue for one.
