The closer to TDC the injection starts the easier starting becomes because the fuel is injected at a high temp.

challenged three ps owners to the test
cold start showdown
95 f250
97 f350
99 f350
against my 91 f350 with a 3.9 and no heat grids
no takers on that one
btw that was in florida

ran across two guys trying to sweet talk a ps with either (not)
told them i had just what they needed to get it running but i didn't have it with me
it was at the shop
they wanted to know what it was
and i told them a cummins motor!!!!!!!!
not happy campers?

How bad do u think my timing has slipped with it starting this easily? I want to bump the timing 16* but need to find help and somebody with a kit.

As far as being cold blooded, I've always been umder the impression that 12v's were VERY cold blooded

It could be your driving style; or a difference in gear ratios?

I get about 18 mpg, on average, on mine. All city with about 1/4 freeway driving. Although, most times the freeway traffic is crawling at 2-45 mph on the way back home. The sticker under the hood says I have 3.5 drive ratio.

11 mpg in the city does sound low, though. Unless you're heavy on the accelerator and braking.

I have the 3.55 gears too. I drive very conservatively for the most part, much easier than when I would romp on my psd 7.3 and getting 18+mpg city.. I've never seen below 15mpg in my psd in city driving, and that was with a greaseball nasty 7lb k&n airfilter and stock exhaust on it.
