Altenator Voltage or Transmission??
Today my pickup started some funky stuff. It stifted down and up a few time and finally stayed in the low gear and at the same time the tacometer was bouncing back and forth with the check engine light and generator light flashing . When I got back home and restarted it the the voltage gauge wouldn't show any output and when I would take off it seem to be in 2nd gear . Thats the simtumes here the question, if the altenator goes out would it screw with the way it shift? I thought transmission at first but when you add in the tac and volt gauge thats when I got confused. Any suggestions would be greatJ I figure I would start with checking the altenator output .

The high voltage regulator on my alternator broke, so my batteries were not charging. I did not know that it had broke, but once my truck started acting funny, I guessed it was from when a buddy of mine was under the hood doing some turbo work for me. I was able to ride around for a couple of days on the battery life, but when it got low, she started to shift oddly and the tac also jumped around. After losing everything like gauges, radio, lights, the truck died infront of my buddies house haha
