how do i gut the afc housing?
#2
Well, for a street truck, i would keep it tuned, if you gut it, you will have to much lowend fuel. to gut it you take the foot, and plate out. and the diaphram, everything in the afc that can be taken out take it out. you can try it, and see how you like it, and if you think its too much fuel just put it back togeather.

Well, its not the most simple thing to get dialed in, you have to work @ it. There is a few different adjustments. Firts, you have your plate setting, most ppl, have ot full forward, and then you have the people who put it 1/8 back from full forward, ect. this is all personal prefrance and depends on your plate and use of truck. Then like the plate you can slide the housing of the AFC (air fuel control) forward or back, like the plate, once again giving you your desierd feel. FYI, everything fully forward (Front of Truck) is max fuel. Then there is your star wheel, which controls pre boost fuel, you can turn that twards the engine, giving you more fuel or tward the fender for less fuel (PRE BOOST). what you normally want to do is teset and tune, do some adjustments and see how the truck reacts, if you stomp on the diesel pedal, and the truck hesitates to boost and bogs, Blacks smokes out the road, turn the star wheel back twards the fender ECT ECT. Do you kinda understand? basically you need to spend some time here, just playing around untill you get it were you want it. its really not that dificult, just time consuming. Im sure people will chime in here, that are more knowledgeable than I, and can give you some helpful hints, these are just some of the basic adjustments that any one with 2 hands and some tools can figure out and do. Good luck fella.
BTW, whats your truck doing?
