yes you can do that its just the cheep way to do it. no difference then buying the adjustable boost elbow. the elbow its 15-25 were a hose clamp is 60 cents

 

what the pros to blockin the waste gate. my truck pulls nothin and is just a daily driver so should i just leave mine alone

 

All blockin the wastgate does is exaxtly what it says it releases the excess boost through the exhaust wich keeps the turbo from building more then whatever the wastgate acuator is preset at I took the actuator off pulled it all the way out turned the attactchment rod as far as it took to keep the actuaotr from working and my hx35/40 hybrid is crankin out 45 pounds as fast as It can it may push more I haven't tried cus I don't have head studs yet but they're on my list soon

 

I believe trucks with 5 speeds have this setup. My 96 5 speed had it until I went with a bigger turbo.

 

so its better then? and my dad has a duramax is it basically the same for him?
