Default Wastegate help ....

I have been reading through the threads looking for some info on wastegate plugging , restricting etc. I read about putting a hose clamp on the line the goes to the back of the AFC housing which is "supposed" to be a steel line . Mine does not have a steel line . Mine has a line that looks like a vaccuum line that doesnt go over to the turbo either , it ties into the intake manifold . Also , on my turbo , the line going into the compressor side has no "T" in it . It goes straight down to an accuator mounted on a bracket coming off of the trucks frame . I have not seen anything going to the exhaust side of the turbo . I am confused , what do I plug , restrict , etc? I am making 18 psi max boost with the stock fuel plate in the stock positon . I still have the stock tranny so fuel mods are limited rite now .

there should be a line that comes off of the compressor housing to the watsgate which hangs off the ehhaust housing the hose clamp goes on that line

If you want to plug your wastegate there is 2 ways to do it you can either kink the line going from the turbo to the wastegate its self or the wastegate has an adjustable rod going from it to the exhaust side of the turbo. I wouldnt mess with line going from the intake manifold to the afc housing the only thing it controls is fuel to air mixture so if your star wheel is all the forward your pump thinks that it has full boost all the time any way...thats where all the black smoke comes from. hope this helps ya out

ok , my bad . I was looking at it wrong . I see now . The line coming off the front of the compressor housing to the wastegate then ported into the exhaust housing Thanks fellas !! Will plugging it do anything positive without any fuel plate mods ?

I got it plugged , was able to make 23 psi of boost from a dead stop . I guess now i have to do some fuel mods to get it up higher Move that stock plate full forward for now . That shoud increase my boost right ?
