Default High beam issues

Ok hears my question, why does using the high beams on my truck burn the switch up? I have already gone through one and I want to know if its something the just happens or if its a common thing?

It has happenen many times but I have never heard of it caused by using high beams

I have however heard that burning up the switch is caused by running the dimmer.....its just a reostat , So the fix is to run yer dash lights as bright as they will go instead od dimming them

I haven't heard that but its interesting. I have been running them full bore because it's hard to see my gauges at night otherwise. Do the make headlights that draw less amps without going to leds?

Get the setup at the bottom of this page. It draws the power directly from the battery, instead of through the switch. LMC Truck Parts - Page 26
