Default trans issues

i know i need a new trans mines slippn pretty bad but short of not driving my truck what can i do to get some extra life out of it til i can afford a new one

Ummm... Oatmeal in the ATF...

You're screwed. Pony up the money now and get a rebuild, new clutches and steels, and a new TC, otherwise you'll grenade it and need ALL new parts.

you could try to adjust the bands in it might get a few more miles out of it the should be adjusted to about a 1/4 of and inch of play. and well start saving because they arent cheap trust me I went through my fair share of trannys. good luck
