Default Should I replace my fuel pump?

I noticed I was losing power about 1000 miles ago. I changed the fuel filter and checked it, has metal shavings in it after a 5000 mile change. If I change the fuel pump is there anything else I should check before I start it again? Truck idols and runs fine except for the power loss, it only has 150 thousand miles on it.

I would recommend that you check and replace the fuel strainer. It sits directly under the the fuel heater. I got my strainer kit from Fleetgard 3845400-S. If you do decide to replace the strainer, you will need a second square section o-ring to replace the seal on the fuel heater. I am trying to find a supplier for the o-ring.
