I just bought a 95 with an automatic 216k miles on it. Seller said it has hx35 turbo wit bigger wheel, transmission has ats parts in the transmission to make it shift smoother. Truck doesn’t run paid 3k he said was driving one day and the truck just stopped moving but was still idling. Showed me a video of it turning over a sounds like the flexplate is sheared. Towed it home and found it most likely needs a flexplate as when I removed the inspection cover metal shrapnel came falling out and I could spin the torque converter by hand (transfer case is in neutral).
Now the TQ is probably an ATS as it is purple and I read on BDS flexplate install instructions that their flexplate in work with BDS or stock torque converters. I just want to make sure I get the right flexplate as I have read about thicker ones needing bellhousing shins or converters machines down th make up the difference. What do you all recommend as I know nothing else about this truck? There is also some type of ATS trans controller mounted under the steering column with an up and down arrow on it.

Inasked the seller about about a toggle switch that was installed with one side disconnected and he said it was for the alternator. Have you all ever heard of this setup before? I am assuming it a battery source voltage from somewhere that is being sent to the alternator but haven’t confirmed this yet
