I have a 96 4x4 5 spd nv4500 the other day it got stuck in 5th. I managed to make it home but got to playing with it. I first screwed up taking off top trans plate and got a look in there and moved shift fork around with screwdriver may have been bad idea. Then read just take shift tower apart and move slides which i did and got truck out of gear.i now got it driving but no reverse or 5th. Need ideas before i pull tail end of trans leaning toward maybe syncro or just got fork in a wrong spot are shifter was in wrong position when installed help need to be fixed asap.

u didnt put fork back on synchro slider at rear most fork not quite lined up..been there done that but I found my mistake before it made it to the truck thankfully
