1997 cummins problem. NEED HELP!
Around 25-27 psi at idle and 34 at 2500 rpm. I purchased a torkteck overflow valve and cranked the pressure up even more to see if their would be a difference in the way it idles down low. Did not notice any difference.
I had the opportunity to talk to a local diesel rebuild company and he said it sounds like the govenor portion of the pump is worn out. He said when there is a load like a/c or putting into drive, the govenor should compensate by adding fuel and keeping it from stalling. He said that the pump needs to be rebuilt.
Does this all sound correct to all you 12 valve enthusiasts?
