Default Lift pump actin up

Back in June I had a new timing case put on (KDP a distaster) and while the shop had the truck apart, the lift pump decided to take a crap. So they put a new one on it, all was well after that. Well about a month ago it started funny, kinda took a little longer for it to crank followed by a couple seconds of rough idle then it smoothed out. Well I just put a new fuel pressure guage on it. I am idling at 5 psi and at WOT I get to about 22-25 psi. I know this isn't wnough. Sound like a lift pump problem? If so I'm gonna get the shop warranty to cover that. I just don't want it to eat my injection pump up.

Running it low on fuel pressure is not recommended, but it is not a vp pump. It won't fry the first time it gets less than 5psi. It should be alright for the time being

I would check an make sure your return line isnt cracked .. I had this exact problem ... I cut my line short, and installed a Tork Tek OFV .. now I can Bump the key and she fires right up .. MPG is up, power is up smoke is down .. all together, single best mod thus far ( next to the 5" straight Exhaust !!)..
