well im about to do my nv4500 swap. but i have a few questions.. will my rear driveline work?? and are the bellhousings different or can i use my auto one with the manual?

 

do you mean the bellhousing adapter?

 

The adapter plate that the bell housing bolts to is the same, however you will need to get a new driveline. The 47RE and NV4500 have a large difference in legnth so you will need to get one built at a drive shaft shop or if you have a 3500 you can buy one from a truck that came with a NV4500 as well. All manuals came with a Dana 80 axle, as only the Automatic 3500 came with the same axle, all 2500 Automatics came with a Dana 70. The Dana 70 axle equipped truck's drive shaft is about 1" longer due to the smaller pinion size.

 

hm, good to know I'll need to swap rear diffs as well when I do this.

 

no need to swap the diff ... just the drive shaft ... the diff will be just fine
