Building block and head
Well long story short I bought a truck and am building a 12 valve for it. I'm wanting to get a stable 600-700 hp out of the motor. The block I got with the truck had gotten hot and had melted the #6 piston..I'm wondering what a rough estimate would be to get the whole block bored .20 over? I also got a head that I want some work done to but I'm not exactly sure what... Opinions?
If you did the disassembly and everything yourself and they just cut up the block it should only be a coule hundred. If you have them do the machine work and assemble the long block it should only run you around 4,500.
Oh sweet I disassembled it and plan on building most of it myself. Do you have any suggestions on what todo with the head? I plan on 150lbs springs from industrial injection but I'm not sure what else should be done
port the exhaust side and bowl blend the intake and exhaust. Have your machine shop cut o ring's in either the block or the head and get them to cut your rockers down for head studs
