Default bad ecm??

I have a 1998 dodge 2500 12 valve and have had problems with the batteries running low from time to time good alt and new batteries but one morning it would just crank and crank with no start i suspected shut off solenoid wasnt lifting(which is a 6 month old solenoid) killed my battery so that night with freshley charged battery it started right up but now headlights, radio, and all gauges wont work also the torque converter isnt locking up replaced crank sensor a month ago (wires got caught by fan) and while I had one of the batteries out when I opened the door there was a clicking which sounded like it was comming from the ecm under the dash does this sounds like a fried ecm to me
what do you guys think??

also no wait to start light

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

and every now and then when i turn the key to start it will just click one time so i try a couple more tmes and she starts

wow, thats weird, how does the fuses and fusable links in the box in the engine compartment look. I think some of these work some of those things.

You should find a qualified shop to take a look for you.

By having it diagnosed by someone with the proper wiring diagrams and ability to test it quickly and efficiently you'll save yourself alot of money and frustration.

A sign of a bad pcm is no tach the alternator wont charge and no tc lockup or overdrive. I had the same issue I pulled the plugs out of the pcm got my trusty paper clip and multi meter and did some back probing. The pcm was dead my diagnostic port was also dead because of it. Ill see if I can fine what wires to test. Its easy to do on ur own.

Loose battery grounds and connections will do all of that. anything even sota loose and or wiggley is no good. And that truck has a lot of them at the battery. mine did all that when I bought it.

If the 5 volt reference voltage is shorted it will shut the ECM down to stop it from burning up. Like everyone else said find a GOOD Tech to diagnose the problem correctly.

I have redone all the connections at the post and when I went to check
For any codes it said unable to connect or something along these lines I guess I better find a good shop then

A good tech will begin by verifying good power and ground circuits at the pcm and verify there are no components shorting one of the transistors causing a shut down, these types of shutdowns typically only affect one circuit not the entire computer. In most cases its a internal computer failure when you loose communication and inputs/outputs, but if it isn't a failed computer and you buy one and can't return it you'll be sick if it doesn't fix it!
It shouldn't be more than 2 hours to diagnose / confirm computer failure properly.
