If you were getting your ECM programed would you send in yours from your truck or...
I am going to get my ECM programmed (either Heath or SS Diesel) and I was wondering if it made a difference regarding if I should send in the ECM from my truck (which runs great) or just get one from the seller and send mine in for the core charge refund? I thought I had read an older post that said your trucks ECM has the IP timing programmed correctly and getting a replacement might require reprograming the IP timing...I might be wrong.
What are your thoughts?
Thank you!

Anytime I've dealt with tuning any vehicle. The factory data is saved to the tuners computer, saved to external disc and emailed to you.
I would look into these options but I personally would just my ecm.

I will ask if they can do that for me. (Burn data to a back up disk that is) I am liking the idea of sending in my ECM as I will save the time and energy of returning a core and I know it is a good computer as well. I will also be doing other work that will give me time for them to program it while I am working on other parts of the project.
Now the real challenge - cleaning out the shop to make enough space to get the LWB dually into the shop!
It has been awhile since it was in here and I have used the space for other things....
Thank you!
