I wish mine gurgled when I plug it in. All I get is a faint little "click" somewhere up inside there. I know it's doing something, because when I forget to plug it in it's 10X grumpier when I go to start it again, but it's not doing much. There's definitely not any gurgling. And that makes me a little bit sad.

Thank God for heated seats

from a plumbing perspective it should have a hissing sound similar to plugging in a water heater when you first plug it in or you need to test the element. you can do it by testing the resistance through the element. and you may have to knock the scale of it for it to heat better.

a good working block heater will click and gurgle and make all types of noises. i wish mine worked that well it does just enough to make it start a little better. i think its getting worn out it had been in maine for for 17 years so shes been used hard.

I think mine shorted out the other day, plugged it in and it sparked. Everything looks fine in the plugs and all, but it's definitely dead.

Got a multi meter? Set it to tone/ohms and one probe on the hot and one on the neutral it should make a tone if its still good
