well EFI live is the best for tuning a duramax vehicle `you kinda gotta know what you're doing though otherwise you're just gonna blow stuff up, best of luck to you, if you want lots of smoke get an extra CP3 and some huge nozzles and keep the stock turbo on it

you can do efi with a dsp5 and have tunes on the fly. personally iv never been a huge fan of on the fly tuner unless your easy on it until the trans relearns the new power level.

efi is a wonderful tool for your duramax. you can basically do what you want. more smoke less smoke more power less power. and if you dont feel comfortable you can have someone do your tuning for you and tell them what you want on your dsp5 once you feel comfortable tuning the you can make smoke ect...

i had a ppe standard and i ran it on level 3 but turned it up to 4 and 5 just to see the diff and boy did it smoke but your trans wont last long.

i had a ppe xcel hot+2 on mine for lil while, it'll get the job done for you without having to learn how to shift on fly... better look for trans tho, i had to build clutch for mine..

Just out of curiosity, what is the actual point of blow black smoke, its a waste of fuel and power going out the exhaust isn't it? I see a lot of people doing this, they have stacks and everything, but I thought the whole point of a diesel is have having a useful rig that produces power that is useful day to day, stacks you have to cut a hole in the bed and black smoke means you have to stop at the gas station more often? am I correct in my way of thinking on this?
