Default Pulling Questions

this is for my 94 standard cab long bed ram 2500. what size diameter traction bars r u guys using? how far r u guys moving your hitch in? i wanna move it in but still b able to pull a trailer, i no ill have 2 cut on my bumper but thats fine with me. anything else u guys r doing that could help?

mine are made out of tractor top links. this is a cheap way to do them.

doesnt look like u could pull a trailer with the hitch in that far. but that gives me a good referance.. thanks for the pics. im gonna start on that stuff soon. doin suspension stops, movin the hitch, sled stops, traction bars, and driveshaft hoops

yeah, pulling a trailer with it that far in doesn't look like a great idea

i think i could go 10 inches and cut the bumper and be alright

you don't have to. mine have a solid mount on the rear and the heim on the front. having 2 heim joints makes it a bit easier to adjust the length of the bars. to adjust mine I have to un bolt them, with 2 heim joints you have to break free the locking nut and just turn the bar.

i moved my hitch in so that the back holes became the front holes then redrilled the other 4 but that would probaly be too far back for a trailer but you might try moving it back just one set of holes

what type if slide in hitch do you use to pull a trailer? is it a cheap one or do you use a solid shank pintle mounting plate with a hitch bolted to it.

you can move the hitch in as far as you want if you have the right parts for pulling the trailer so you ball/pintle is out where you need it

but i thought they needed 2 move with the suspension, so u just have 2 have 1 adjustment. i might just do it that way.
