Does anybody have any experience with the pullrite brand of automatic sliders? I've been looking at some of the info on their site concerning the 24K model. It seems a little much for what I would need, but I don't think they offer it for the mega cabs in the 18K model. I measured my clearance from back of the cab to center of the axle and it look like I only have about 36-37 inches max. I think that will definitely limit the width of 5ver I could pull without risk of cab damage. Does anybody know how far the standard manual slider hitches move? I would like to get the hitch thing figured out before I look at getting any type of RV. Where are the lowest prices on hitches that anybody has found? thanks.

If you get a sidewinder, you won't need a slider. Sidewinder works by putting the pivot point back at the trailer where the pin box connects to it. It is installed on the trailer.

You can use whatever 5th wheel you like with it, I think. Most 5th wheel vendors offer gooseneck hitches that mount to the same rails as the 5th wheel. Just disconnect the 5th wheel hitch and put in the gooseneck hitch.

If this is the case it's gonna be real close with one of the modern design RV's. With a slider it will put you to the limits and I would still keep an eye on it.
Megacab has the same bed as short bed quad cab, according to the Dodge Body Builder's Guide.

I also have a b&W GN, but have yet to use it! It's there as a just in case type of thing, and a business adventure went south, no biggie.

It looks to be one awesome hitch.

There are also adjustment slots on the b&w companion you can adjust for leveling your rv when hauling and how far you what it to sit away the cab of the truck. I believe the adjustments either way are 6". Also try to find a 5er hitch that has a 16000lbs rating.
