Default Play in Steering

I've got a 2001 GMC Sierra Duramax 2500HD with 8" lift... My problem is the steering is very loose... I can drive straight down the road and it will pull left - i correct - it pulls right - i correct, and so on (looks like i'm tipsy)... When parking in parking lots, it feels like one wheel turning and the other taking it's time... I had the wheels off one day and noticed some links that appeared loose, but I know nothing about lifts/suspensions... I was hoping someone would know what to check or do to fix the problem... Thanks

balljoints, tie rods, and pitman and idler arms. Lifted GM will eat through all of them, its pretty standard to have to go through them often.

There is an adjustment on the steering box to take the slop out of the gears. I just did that on a 02 & 05. Fixed it with no play.
