Default shouldn't I have won???

6.7l 07.5 dually, stock with 120000kms, but with a code p2579 vs.
5.9l 06 2500, stock with 65000kms.

5.9l wins all the time. Didn't matter what I tryed boost lauch, 4x4, tow haul on or off, whaterver couldn't keep up.

He's a good friend of mine, him and I went through the truck with a fine tooth comb. It's stock. Even with the weight I would have thought the 25 extra horse and the 40 ft lb's of tourque would have beat him. Maybe something wrong with mine other than just that code?? Would the code effect the performance of my truck that much?? p 2579 Turbo charger speed sensor circuit performance.

i hate to say this but, power to weight ratio, you may have 25 extra horsepower and 40 ftlbs, but that doesent mean you will win, his is a good 500-1000 pounds lighter and also its not just the truck its the driver aswell,a truck with 10k mods could be beat by a truck with only 5k mods aslong as the driver knew what he was doing.

best bet is to swap trucks and run again, if he beats you in your own truck you need more practice, but if you beat him then its your truck.

I'll invite you down next time and you can show me how to drive. We swaped back and forth the result was the same. Just have to live with the results I guess. I posted this to see if anyone else has had the same experience or if this is normal. My truck is usually hooked on too a 35' 15000gvwr living quarter horse trailer.

Weight is huge also gear ratios and different trans gearing as well. Lots variables to try to figure out.

i dont want any hard feelings, i was just saying that stuff happens, everyone has room for improvement.

your truck should have kept up, but what about your rear gear ratio and his? are they the same?
