I am all for safety. Now with that said, the whole point of track events and street class specific organizations is to bring the racers to the track and off the street. The track owners just benefit from them. If you over regulate the events and in turn cost the participants more money to be involved, they will be less likely to participate.

I have seen this in many form of racing and the end result is always the same. After all the new regulations even the basic classes are out of the reach for the average guy. You end up having the same , well funded group of guys at the events.

Track safety on the other hand is antiquated at most rural tracks. In this day and age not having CTB's (concrete traffic barriers) the length on the track is almost criminal negligence.
At my local 1/8 mile track , they have cars running in the 4's at speed around 150mph. Yes the car only weighs 2500lb but at that speed it will fly over/through a steel guardrail and way into the crowd/pit areas. I've seen it happen.the taller better designed CTB's help eliminate the majority of those issues.

Actually where I heard this was being discussed over here... I aint been on here in a bit but been around other forums (yeah funny I am over at thier site even tho I got a cummins and dad has a PSD). I hopped on here and didnt realize this was a 12 page thread.

I think this is stupid crapola and whoever thought of it needs to rethink things.

Not sure who's post it was I skimmed and saw, but it said something along the lines of "it should be whomever the driver is' choice to use a rollcage or not"

Good luck fighting this stuff guys!
