Mosin Nagants are WWII era, magazine fed, bolt action rifles. I have one, myself. Built in 1944 in Hungary. After WWII militaries in Eastern Europe started switching to SKS and AK's. There were a lot of these rifles now as "surplus" which is why you can get them so cheap. I bought mine brand new still in cosmoline. They're a fun gun to shoot IMO. Most variants fire 7.62x54R which is a decent size round. As far as whether you should buy one or not, I would buy mine again. I don't think they'll ever really be collector's pieces or anything like that though.

Whats the range on them? Are they fairly accurate?

The effective range is 500m or 800m (with optics). I'd say they're pretty accurate for a mass produced rifle of that era. They were used as sniper rifles during the war. I've only fired mine from a bench at 100 yds and I'm sure it's a lot more accurate than I am (mine is a carbine model FWIW).

They are very accurate if the bore and barrel are in good shape. That x54r round is a round still used in russian sniper rifles. If you buy a 44 it will throw a nice fireball. Most are the 91/30 models that are rifle length.

You used to get them for $50. Hell used to could get a sks for $75. That x54r ammo is still pretty cheap and will last for a long time because it comes sealed in tins and uses older more corrosive powder.

Got one with a **** ton off ammo as a SHTF hunting gun. Its a fun shooter, Defiantly more accurate long guns but it does it with style.

$110 is a good price. IIRC, I paid about $140-150 for mine about 7-8 years ago. I, personally, wouldn't shoot some of that old ammo though. A buddy of mine got 1000 rds of surplus Russian stuff at a gun show that split the casings when he fired it.
