carrying it in the case is better than not at all. it would take just about the same time to get it out uncased as it would cased up anyway.
By the time you get it out of the case, & loaded the cops will already be there

OK thatll work.

If you get robbed, get your gun out of the case, unlock it, load it, chamber a round, then get out your cell phone and call 911. The ambulance will be there to scrape your body off the pavement in about 5 minutes.

Like I said, FUNK what the bureaucrats say, it is your body and you have the right to self defense. Carry CONCEALED, or move to Indiana where you can carry anyway you feel like it.

I couldnt live in a funking pinko libtard state like Illinois, no way. I avoid that shithole at all costs.

If you can't use your gun in a blink of an eye, then your gun is nothing more than a "PAPER WEIGHT"

We're not trying to bust your ***** here bub, but NOBODY is gonna give you the time to dig your pistol out of your pack, find the magazine buried somewhere else in there, pack the mag, load the chamber and get even ONE round off before smashing your head in with a pipe of cutting your throat. A goblin can close a 20-foot distance and stuff a knife in your belly in less than a second. Considerably less time than it takes to pull that pack off... IF you even see him coming!

You are heading off to Paris Island pretty shortly. Trust me, you'll have PLENTY of time carrying a gun soon enough. Don't screw it up committing a felony by carrying a gun you have basically NO chance of of using to save your hide.

The biggest part of not becoming a victim is not putting yourself in the position to be a victim. Find ya a running partner. A baddie is much more likely to attack a single person. If you feel you need a weapon for self-protection, a small, tactical-style knife stuffed in a pocket or laced into your boots is very quick to get into action and quite possibly even more effective than a pistol round. Bad guys usually stop attacking when their intestines are spilling out of their bellies onto the ground.

Something like this maybe:

Just call time out. That should give you enough time to get it out of your pack and loaded.

Seriously if it was me I would leave it at home and find some other source of weight to put in the pack. I can see nothing but bad coming from it being in your pack. If something was to happen you could end up having to answer for the gun and I know it would be legal but you will probably be hassled. Or worse the bad guy could end up with your pack and gun.

i'm not risking a felony by carrying a loaded gun illegally. you guys can but not me. it would be pretty difficult for someone to sneak up on me out in the quiet country with miles and miles of clear field of view. it is reasonable to say that i can get it ready if need be.

i'm not too worried about people. i'm 6' 5" 210 lbs not some small scrawney dude. i'm not the most attractive target someone would try to rob or deal with. it's more for animals that i might run into like dogs, bobcat's, wolf's, deer...if i see them in time i'd load it and carry it till they/i pass by.

i'm sure there are some who disagree so entertain away.

Long walks in the woods with a pack ain't going to do much for ya....if ya want to be a Marine then ya need to run...run and then run some more...along with push up's, pull ups, situps and crunches to start with...oh and run some more...

Learn what the ranger shuffle is...load a pack to 35-45 pounds and go do 5 miles of ranger shuffle...every mile stop and knock out 50 pushups, 50 situps and 100 crunches...for a start...

Your size will work against you...run your *** off...and then the ranger shuffle..

As far as carrying a pistol in a pack, unloaded, seperated from the ammo...give me a break...
