carry gun in alice pack on walks?

I live in illinois and I got a while to go before my ship date to Paris Island comes and i'm starting to do long walks, like 5-10 miles a day. I'm going to start to carry my alice pack with some weights in it and would really like to carry my glock too.

If the glock is in it's case and the magazine is in a separate compartment should everything be legal and good to go? i live outside of a small town in illinois so I won't be like walking around a crowded city or anything like that.

Thanks.

Paris Island? USMC?

Throw in 17 pounds and wear some boots- increase distance every second day.
But:
Have a break every second day! To much in the beginning is not good- if you havn't done it before. If you want to increase your Physical fitness, just do the 3 mile run on a daily basis.

Good luck to you.

yep, USMC 0331:rocking:. I figured I can walk longer than run and I really enjoy walking more so I chose this. running isn't an issue. any word on carrying the gun?

Should be fine. Just don't do/say anything that will bring unnecessary attention to it and you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck and thanks for choosing to serve. :c:

Yupp, simply unneccessary.

Believe me your DI's will do everything to let you feel discomfort and pain, you better get used to run.

I'm here in Illinois also. You have to have on your person at all times that you posses a firearm or ammo, your foid card. The gun must be unloaded and cased, with all ammo stored in a separate case or compartment.

My question here is, why. What's the point of carrying it. In a pack, in a case with ammo separate, it's not like you will have access to it, so why take the chance of some small town Barney wanting to hassle you.

Sounds like you might as well leave your piece at home. Or move to Alabama and carry it on your hip, cocked, locked, and in plain sight without a permit.:jump:

I'm afraid I'd have to agree with Uncle and Bucket here. No sense in carrying a pistol you don't have loaded, or even access to. Unfortunatly, the only purpose your Glock would serve you on your walks/runs would be to shove your tit in a wringer should anyone with a badge find out about it.

No, you live in the Peoples Republik of Illinois where it is illegal to defend yourself and exercise your basic human and 2nd amendment right.

That being said, FUNK the law, carry anyways. Conceal it somewhere on your person, loaded ready to go with one in the chamber (any other way is pointless) and make sure nobody sees it unless you absolutely have to use it.

as far as i know carrying the gun in the case unload with the magazines in another compartment is legal and that's what i'm going to do. i know i should be able to carry it as i please anytime, anywhere, anyway, but lets face it, we have the new age modified rights.....i'm not getting into that.

carrying it in the case is better than not at all. it would take just about the same time to get it out uncased as it would cased up anyway.
