The .gov buys from the lowest bidder that will get the job done. They chose them because I'm sure Eotech, and aimpoint pretty much give them to the mil just so they can say, "used by the military". If you ever get a chance to go in an armory on a base you will be amazed at some of the pure junk they have... And then something else will be the top of the line... no rhyme or reason to it...

Stoners design by design is pretty hard to f'up. As long as you stick with Mil Spec stuff, assemble it well and buy name brand parts you will have a good running gun. Keep it clean, keep it maintained, and you should never have an issue with it. Sure you can spend $1,500 on an AR but 99% of the people that shoot AR's will never need the difference between a good $600-$800 gun and a $1,500 gun.

Watch the video & Travis's comments...he puts into words how i feel & why I want quality instead of cheap....BCM is sume great stuff...but it's a tad pricey...
