Default If You Shoot Somebody...Don't Do This...

Seems the bad guy was shot twice...took the gun away from the good guy who was legally carrying concealed and then killed him...

Nothing like getting shot and killed by your own gun....

No surprise here. A lot of people who carry concealed or other wise are either not trained to or unable to handle the situation. Should they not carry? Dead or injured is dead or injured, doesn't matter if it's with your own gun or your assailant hands around your throat. I will not deny anyone the right to try and defend themselves.

If you carry a gun you need to also carry a knife on your belt ready to go if a bad guy goes for your gun. I carry a KaBar last ditch LEK that is fixed blade and ready to pull out of retention sheath. If he goes for your gun cut his wrist to hamburger.

Default Looks Like a Darwin Award Nomination to Me

He missed his chance to use the pistol if he's already engaged in fisticuffs.

But regardless, shooting somebody over a parking lot road rage fight is pretty gawd damned stupid. In the jaw? I guess that's one head shot that was bit off the mark. I wonder which poorly placed shot was first - the head or the leg?

They were both in the wrong, but I think Darwin got it right after it was all said and done.

Great choice.
Every pair of my boots has one in the laces.

Never been much on the tac knives so this is a serious question not sarcasm or anything. Can you really relize someone is going for you gun, react, draw a knife and cut them before they get you gun. I would think they have a hell of a head start by already being moving toward if not hands on your gun before your mind even relizes what is going on. Just thinking out loud...

Its just what I carry. I have it at a position where it is nothing to pull and stab or cut with. I have no idea what I would do in that situation, but the 2 were probably all tied up before the gun came out. So that could be where the shot to the leg came from and the gun being taken from him. I dont know, without more detail.

But as far as the knife I carry, my father in law is a retired Secret Service agent. He is the reason I carry what I carry. He doesnt carry the knife I have. I carry a Buck knife for knife work next to my streamlight on my left pocket. My KaBar knife was a groomsman present.

It can happen so fast, I've taken weapon retention classes knowing the guy was going to take my weapon and kill me with it..as I held him at gunpoint...the pistol in my hand pointed at him....

Even knowing this....I died...several times...it's a strange feeling looking down the barrel of your gun as the "bad guy" pulls the trigger...

It's different when they come up and grab your sidearm in a holster...how you can take it to the ground if you plan & train for this...but unless you have a retention holster it's extremly hard and even then be prepared to get your *** kicked...hard....

A trained and knowledgeable person can take your gun out of your hands and shoot you before you realize it..and before you can grab your knife and start slicing..
