Hi point pistols
I wanna pistol now, i want to get my chl. I dont want to spend alot either. My buddy has a .40 hi point and it shoots nice but its really bulky. For under $200 is it a deal?
I was thinking about this one Hi Point 8 + 1 Round 380 ACP w/Black Finish & Hard Case $129.00 SHIPS FREE But i really want a .45 Hi-Point 34510 45ACP/P 45ACP 9RD POLYMER $159.00 SHIPS FREE I just think the 380 will be alot easier to conceal. |

The .380 isnt as bad as that .45...thats why i consider it more. Has great reviews on buds gun shop. Any other brands that are as cheap? I dont want to buy used.

PLUM the HI-POINT will shoot every time you pull the trigger, but it's not a gun you collect or will have any pride of ownership:nope:

Sounds what im looking for then reliable and cheap. I could care less what kind of pride it gives me lol. But i will say this they are UGLY!!!! So how is a .380 as a personal defense gun?
|
Jason's got a .45, its never mis fired on him once, no issues at all. But its insanely heavy, ugly, the ergonomics sucked for me, and it groups like SHIT! Do yourself a favor and save up a little more.
I thought about buying a 9mm Hi-Point for my Bug-Out-Bag. Figured For a gun that will get 1000 rounds for a reliability check then put in a bag most likely never to be shot again I wanted something cheaper. After shooting Jason's I quickly dismissed that idea...... |

i had a hipoint .45 for the price they are they aren't bad, i didn't use it for a target shooter or anythign like that, i only packed it while hunting to "finish off" things. didn't care if it got banged up on rocks etc. and never once failed me. i don't even know if i took it out target practicing for real, shot it at this and that but never for a serious shoot and see the grouping. for accuracy my 1911 is amazing! but much more than the hi point was lol

yes i have shot them. they are big and bulky, but if you want something to go bang, then it might be the gun for you. if you want something to defend you and your family look at some manufactures that have made a name for their selves. Glock, Colt, Springfield, Taurus, Beretta, S&W, Ruger, Walther, etc. yes they cost more money but are worth it in the long run, especially in the the resale area. a cheap gun will never be worth more later on down the road. more expensive guns aren't a guarantee money maker but more of your investment will be retained later on when you trade in or sell. also the Hipoint is the only gun you can chamber a round using only one hand.... |

the weight of the slide, when the gun is abruptly thrust in one direction and then in another will make the slide move and chamber a round if the mag is loaded.
example, this was done repetitively with snap caps to prove it to a local gun shop owner. with the chamber empty, and a single snap cap in the mag, take the gun, point the muzzle towards the ground. move the gun up and then down towards the ground very quickly in one quick movement. the weight of the slide will make it move slower than the frame, causing it to slide back and chamber a round. there is a video online somewhere that demonstrate this technique step for step. it also can double as a hammer if need be..... ---AutoMerged DoublePost---

And yes, that's why they are so thick...they are made out of cheap assed pot metal, by a company that's been sued out of exastance 2 or 3 times, changes it's name and comes back... Besides, what good is a lifetime warranty when the company goes out of business... ---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Rent a few & shoot them... Play with them, see what fits your hand, what gives you a natural point of aim...what you feel comfortable with.. 9mm or 45 would be my choice, using premium handgun ammo with quality modern JHP's and the proper bullet weight is more important than caliber any more... 9mm is cheaper, you can do more shooting..and it will kill you just as dead... Take a good hard & long look at the S&W M&P line...they are great pistols.. And then get a quality holster & belt...not a cheap holster or POS belt..& take a class.. ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- S&W 9mm full sized M&P I got not long ago....I have a Secret City Weaponeers K25 holster on order...will be using it as my primary CCP once the holster get's here & I've got 1K rounds downrange out of the pistol... I have a high point 9 mm, picked it up for $50 plus a box of rounds. Id like to pick up one of thier carbines

If you are looking for a cheap gun, take a look at the S&W Sigma Series. Heavy ass trigger but i think it is the best gun you can have for the money.

Ok probably a stupid question but whats bigger a 9mm or a 380? I would like a .40 or .45 but i cant justify the price. |

Don't get a sigma 380:s: The 9MM is a more powerful round than the 380, Look around for a used CZ-75 it could be had for less than $350:tu: Remember the CZ-75 has a frame mounted safety & it's accurate:tu:

Why is this....chances are you can save some $$$ on a used handgun & it's not going to be shot to death if shot much at all....might have finish wear...but big deal.... |

CDNN has used police turn in Glock 22's in good condition for $329. You can send it back to and they will go through it and replace any worn parts for free.
CDNN has great deals on guns all the time. Here is the online catolog. http://site.cdnninvestments.com/CDNN2011-1/index.html |

I see CDNN has a new Sig SP2022 for $399 right now too...
EDIT: Typo on price... |
