I've never been a fan of the serpa either... for all the reasons above, I bought one and quickly itmade its way to the back of the closet.

gunman41mag 06-16-2011 08:11 AM

I think I got one with a 1911 I bought, but I haven't used it yet:humm: Good thing, cause I don't want to shoot my third leg:nope:

Its not hard to understand that the Serpa costs $40 for a reason. Its obviously not as well made as others, but it works for a lot of people. I'll continue to use mine until the day that either A) it breaks or B) I can get something better. So far FOR ME, it has lived up to expectations.

Not all holsters are shit crazy expensive...some are dirt cheap...and others not so

I know what you're saying here isn't your own thoughts, I've heard them before. I have no problem admitting that I may own and use an inferior product, and I don't give a shit. And to PLMCRZY, sorry to go off on your thread. I'm done.[/QUOTE]

Sure it's off topic, but the tangent is full of great info for a point ouher than the Rumpsters...from people who might not rub you the wrong way as the Rumpster can rub others the wrong way..

Have you ever checked these guys out..cheaper...and superb quality holsters..

Comp-Tac : Top-Quality Firearm Accessories I have a few holsters from em...

Blade Tech holsters, knives and tactical gear for military, law enforcement, shooting competition and hunting. again a company I've purchased several holsters from over the years..

Raven Concealment Systems Superb holster makers, long wait times...but quality that is backed by the best customer service..

Kaluban Cloak Have no 1st hand experiences with em, but they are everything RC above is from what I've read

I've got a K25 on order from the company in this thread for the M&P 9mm... Secret City Weaponeers - M4Carbine.net Forums long wait, but it should be worth the wait hopefully...

http://www.atomicdogholsters.com another great holster company.....superb customer service and products

I love my Crossbreeds, Got one for almost every pistol I own. Have yet to find anything more comfortable to me in IWB carry.

I'm still in the market for a good wallet/pocket holster for my S&W Body guard

PLMCRZY 06-16-2011 08:16 PM

Im gonna get the springfield xd 9mm, really nice gun. I think. Is there alot of aftermarket stuff for them? Holsters, grips, lights, lasers blah blah?

Bucket Truck 06-16-2011 08:25 PM

Holsters, grips, lasers, lights, sights, etc. Very good platform, there are more option for Glocks but thats a given:pca1:

RSWORDS 06-16-2011 08:26 PM

I don't think you will have any problems finding what ever you want for the XD. You will like that gun.

PLMCRZY 06-16-2011 08:47 PM

The way you're talking, you'll blow your load once the gun is in your hands:w2:

Somewhat.....but not as good as a S&W M&P or a Glock....:scare2::scare2:

It started out life as a HS2000 made in Croatia & the same pistol the Croatian military uses...and early on when imported into America it cost around $200 if I remember right....then Springfield had a brainstorm, did a tweak or two...called it the Springfield XD and is selling it for quite a profit..

So you are paying how much for a pistol that cost $200 before Springfield got in on the act.....:ouch::ouch:

PLMCRZY 06-16-2011 10:56 PM

Do you have anything good to say about anything other then what you have? You've shot down pretty much everyone on this thread with some bs..

It's all good....no emotion, just fact based data making one a better consumer....:w2::w2:

Nothing wrong with the XD at all, played with a few of em today...they feel great...fit my hand nicely (both 9mm and 45) have a good natural point of index for me & the trigger feels better than a glock and fits my hand better than the G19.....(and I hate the plastic trigger on the M&P) :s::s::s::s:

FordDZLMan9191 06-16-2011 11:19 PM

You are gonna love your XD! Did you get a fullsize or a smaller one? The first thing I'd do to it when you get a chance is get some decal grip(or something similar) for it. The factory texture isn't very aggressive and can get kinda slippery, at least in my experience.

So glad to hear that you didn't go with a hi-point! :tu:

Bucket Truck 06-16-2011 11:24 PM

There are grip kits for it with textured decals. Or you could make your own out of the 3m tape used on staircases for traction.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Gives it grip like a 4th gen Glock.

This is the stuff I was talking about. They also have another version that's more like sandpaper.

38702 - DeCal Grip Springfield XD Rubber Black

gunman41mag 06-17-2011 09:41 AM

it looks like it's a mattel toy, that you peel & paste:D I'm not much into plastic guns, Guess I'll a little old fashion:humm:

PLMCRZY 06-17-2011 05:00 PM

That grip looks like asshole, i want a rubber sleeve grip, if i even get one. All i really want is the 13rd mags for it and lots of ammo!

My buddy talked me into the 4" barrel full size. I almost bought the compact but he says it sucks for longer range.

RSWORDS 06-17-2011 05:02 PM

Its a pistol.... Its not gonna be but so good at long range.

Bucket Truck 06-17-2011 07:38 PM

The compact would be fine with the extended mag. They make a sleeve that goes over the 13 rd mag that extends the grip to fullsize.

gunman41mag 06-17-2011 07:57 PM

I don't think you'll need to shoot a handgun farther than 25 yards {most gun fights are less than 7 yards}:humm:

PLMCRZY 06-17-2011 08:50 PM

My buddy is ex marine that saw 2 deployments. Im sure there is more of a reason that i got the fullsize and not the compact. Im happy! Sold the traction bars off my truck for $200 so that will be going to the gun soon.
