Like the Taurus PT1911,it's a good one,for the money.
I have a Para Ordinance P14 Limited, very nice, but 1k was the going price here when I bought it,so I worry about it when it's not with me (my dad has it right now,I've tried getting it back from him,)
I've got a Ruger SP101 for my CCW weapon, but in the winter I'd rather carry a 1911,they ride nice for a big gun.

One of the reasons I like em' too.
Errr,a revolver is easier than a cocked and locked 1911?
Debatable.
I'm going to go with 01CumminsRam on this one.

Safety is our responsibilty, not the gun manufacturer. No gun should be grabbable by anybody not authorized to use it. Loaded, unloaded, safety on, safety off, all the same.
Careful with that kind of thinking or we'll all end up with this:

The Xd is a good gun. It is about the safest out there.
Trigger safety, grip safety, and thumb safety.
Very reliable. Checkout Springfields website.
Springfield Armory
Their custom shop can do all kinds of stuff to that pistol.

The XD is a fine choice! My brother has one exactly like it. 14 rounds of .45 auto is hard to argue with. I have a little known compact (Bersa) in .45 that's not much bigger than a Walther PPS (think James Bond) that holds 8-rounds and is a totally reliable and accurate pistol.
I don't recall seeing it mentioned above, but if I decided to purchase another auto pistol, I think I'd look hard toward a .357 Sig. It's a nasty "little" round that seems to really get the job done.

i have 3 Sigma's and beg to differ.....
obviously you've never shot the brick of a Hi-Point. they are, to me, a disposable gun, a person buys it, uses it in a robbery and then disposes of it..... i've shot a Hi-Point
9mm and wouldn't trade my Sigma for it any day of the week..... i wouldn't take a Hi-Point if someone payed me.....
Sigma's only jam when they aren't maintained properly and someone shoots crap rounds in them. the only ammo i have had problems shooting in mine were some cheap aluminum hull 9mm American Ammo that jammed every other shot (this was after i put 200-300 rounds through it previously that day so it wasn't the cleanest) and try shooting 200-300 rounds of 9mm+p in a Hi-Point..... it'll laugh at you.....
that is SOOOOO true. and that can be fixed in under 3 minutes.... all 3 of mine have a really nice trigger pull now. WAY better than factory.
If you say so, but ya know what I still say the Sigma and Taurus are about a hair above the HiPoint in quality if that much. I'd not give any of my loved ones or friends either one of the above pistols & if they had one I'd make sure at least family would sell it as soon as possible & get a quality handgun, or at least a Glock 19.

Oh and don't forget that the Sigma is a jam-o-mattic with lots of problems, otherwise would it not be carried by Law Dogs? Course it can't be said that the Law Dogs are breaking down Taurus doors eager to purchase them to take in harms way. I've shot a hi point that jammed less than Sigma's I've shot and as far as Taurus quality, trading one in on a Jennings would be a step up in quality
Be real, high point & jennings HA HA HA, The S & W SIGMA only problem is the heavy trigger pull, never shot a TAURUS 24/7 so I won't comment, but I've heard good things about them, yes I like autos, cause they carry more ammo, HA HA HA do I see HONDA keys ??? I would only buy an AMERICAN TRUCK !!!

FYI. Though the price is cheaper, it's advisable to stay away from WOLF brand ammo. Yea it goes bang, but it also uses steel cases and is very dirty. It's better than throwing stones, but there are better choices out there.

Is there a reason that they say not to use reloads? I saw this lee classic loader kit at cabela's and the reviews are real good for it. Just got me wondering while looking for some reasonably priced ammo.
I've never shot anything other than .22 or .38/.357mag until now so bear with me. Which .45's can I put through mine? I know the .45acp and I think the .45auto, that's it right? Or, no .45auto?
Edit.... I forgot. The biggest question I have about ammo is the +p ammo. I assume that I can't shoot these?
