Was thinking of Gettin a full length recoil rod also.

I like the full length, but it's been said that it doesn't make a difference over the factory guide rod, unless it's a COLT OFFICERS 45, which are know to break the tab & the gun is no longer useable. Both my COLT OFFICERS 45 have a full length guide rod

The rock island is a great beater or builder. You should check out vz grips they are my favorite 1911 grips. It's always nice to have a few sets of grips

I seen several people say they had vz grips on there 1911. I'll check them out.
