JMHO,
no way to 9.5K

i paid 8.3K for an 04

tell the seller that you figure that it will cost too much to return it to stock...
then walk away..... check back a week or so later...... he'll still have the truck....... way back when i was buying and riding harleys, we were taught how to "snivel" when buying a bike...... the same tactics work when buying a used truck..... hell, wear the seller down a little, he may get tired of messing with you and unload his truck to you for what ever you want to pay for it......

To everyone interested in the '91 i posted pics of, here is the email of the owner. As you can see, it needs paint. The truck drives and stops GREAT, has good power, etc. Only real problem is the drivers side window. It goes halfway up then starts jumpin. Owner said it did that before and he replaced a plastic gear in it and it fixed it. Itll need a new gear or maybe a new window motor.

Anyway, that truck is a good deal, someone jump on that thing!

Think of it like the muscle cars of the 70's. They are getting hard to find and people are snatching them up left and right. Lots of guys are fixing these trucks up to the way they were new and maybe even better.

yeah, you take a xcab 4x4 dually 93 vs 97 same miles, both good condition, the 1st gen is worth more down here, they are gettin hard to come by. Lots have been scavenged for the motors to put in other stuff. Lots have been wrecked, TONS of em go to Mexico from around here. They are gettin rare. Me, i wouldnt pay $10k for a cherry BOSS 429 stang, but they can go for $500k, they just aint my bag, just like to some 1st gens are just old trucks. But, i have always wanted a xcab 4x4 1st gen, and this one is in really good shape, paint is faded but mechanically its in great shape. I put $2k in it, paint, carpet, find some nice wheels on ebay, put the factory bed on it, and i can ebay it for $15k w/the miles it has. Then i can always sell the western hauler bed for $1500 easy

That's a nice looking truck but I was shocked that it would cost $1k to register it

I think my '06 was about $450 to register here and I thought that was high. Gotta love having No Sales Tax though:cool:
