Stocking up on Pledge and rags so I can clean house!

 

Does anyone have any resources to buy radiator cores from? I would like to buy a core and build a custom radiator for Rusty...

Also, getting ready to order the supplies to make my coolant and washer tanks

And, should be ordering the last toolbox and the remainder of the lights, the epoxy to cover to bed wood, and the odds and ends I need to finish the interior and random parts.

Looking for close to stock size, and stock is 31x20 or so, including end tanks. I could make anything around that size work. Looking for a minimum of a dual pass and 2.25" to 3" core. Mounting will be no problem, of course. Also looking for aluminum cores...

I thought Griffin sold theirs as just cores, but I cannot find it on their site. Summit radiators are a hair too small, I think. Also thinking about possibly integrating a heat exchanger for the A2W intercooler into the bottom portion of the radiator....

 

Let me see what kicking around in the shed/garage/etc. May have something.

 

That'd be badass! I actually would like to consider going taller, but I need to get some measurements first.

So, I made a tiny list of things to do/buy still...

I need to make my coolant reservoir (2 hrs), windshield washer tanks (2hrs), relocate the battery (1hr), buy a radiator and put it in (4hrs), consider the air to water intercooler and put that in (6hrs), powdercoat the charge pipes (no hrs), tune the turbo (4-6hrs), install valve springs (6hrs), install the fuel governor spring (1hr), finish the interior (3hrs), finish the bed (god knows hrs)...

Needa order the supplies and junk and then go stare at the truck and measure a few things out. Might have to change the intercooler pipes around if I decide to keep the Air to Air intercooler (which I likely will for the winter), since I will have to push it back over an inch to allow the grille to fit. The radiator I am looking at right now is a dual row, 3" thick core, so I am going to move that back as close to the engine as possible, while fitting an electric fan (or 2) on it.

I think I will wait to put the A2W intercooler and A/C stuff on til spring.

Today was pretty discouraging. I had thought that I would be able to get the bondo on and at least get the fist part of the sanding done. WELL, it was so humid it seemed the bondo wasn't drying and the spray primer we covered the metal with to keep surface rust from forming seems to just be peeling off once we put the bondo on.

That took the wind out of my sails, but I did get the gauges almost all the way installed and got some other things tidied up.

Not terribly productive, but I guess you'll have those days from time to time...

A little more encouraging news from the shop today... Dad got all the gauges on the dash working (boost, pyro, etc) along with the cab lights. This was the wiring that frustrated me so much yesterday.

So, really all that needs done in the interior is to wire in the automatic headlight sensor and relay, wire in the amp, hook up the window and lock switches, build speaker boxes and install the volume ****.

The bondo shouldn't take more than one more coat of glazing putty, so that should be done soon, and by the end of the month hopefully the bed will be primed and the underside painted black (outside will be the body color grey)!
