Project Rusty Revival (56k no way!)
Hands are finally healed enough I can get out and do a little bit of work. Picked up some of the easier things, such as running some wire, and painting a few small pieces... nothing exciting.
First, I ran some wiring for the car alarm, and set out the amp wiring kit. Didn't bother with pictures of this, its fairly boring.
Second, I cut out some Ozite to put on the door panels to spice them up a bit, and help break up the black on black interior. The door panel will be getting painted black, and there will be a custom speaker grille on the bottom, but here is the carpet cut out and test fitted:

Next, I needed to smooth the 'ribs' out on the door panel so I have something to glue the carpet to. For this I just put some bondo on it and smoothed it out pretty well:

Third, I painted some trim pieces. the A-Pillars and bottom dash part used to be blue, and the overhead console used to be tan:

The overhead console all painted and reassembled:

And last, while I was trying to get my grips about me while laying out wire, I decided I should come in and draw up a schematic for all the accessories I am adding from the accessory fuse block. I have it 3/4 of the way done right now, and this is what she looks like:

This week the weather is GREAT. With the hands healing fast, I think I will be able to scurry and get the cab prepped for primer. My dad has Fridays off, so I plan to use Friday to spray the cab... sure would be alot easier with 2 people! After primer its off to the paint shop, sooner or later, haha.
Finally settled on a scheme for the paint... It will be much like this paint job:

BUT... where there is blue, there will be dark burgundy. Where the lines change from Gunmetal to Burgundy, I am going to use gold flake striping (click the link here...). I think it will look pretty good! Reason for changing my mind to a 2 tone, is basically... the truck was all black and/or gray tone, the burgundy will break it up very well. Who knows, I might get frisky and throw in some gold flake in the burgundy too
Anyways, until next time (hopefully tomorrow)...

Well, I have been out scrubbing it down with wax and grease remover for the majority of the day, but for some stupid reason that stuff's not drying, so I am pretty much stuck until tomorrow. Trying to balance truck work with bike work, but hard to find a balance when things aren't drying! Not sure if there is anything else I can do in the mean time. I'm gonna be pissed if I don't get to spray my primer tomorrow.
Well, I am losing steam on this project really bad lately. Got some of it primed, spilled half of the primer, and then ran out of primer since I spilled it. Haven't had the will or motivation to go get more primer. Weather has been **** lately, and so has my mood. The project is just really wearing on me, along with school and the weather and crap.
Hopefully once I get the bike finished I will be able to focus more time and attention on this bad boy. I move for school in June/July, so I hope to have it done by then. Just need a few bucks to order the bed sides, and need to finish the primer, then I think it will be good to go to paint. Once the exterior of the cab is done, I think I will hit my 9th wind and finally be able to get it done. Until then... projects suck!
Also, looking for a headliner board. Just need the board, fabric can be saggy and all that since I will have it recovered. Its the last piece to the puzzle for the interior, so any leads would be appreciated!
