Project Rusty Revival (56k no way!)
Why are lug nuts so expensive? I wanted to put my new wheels and tires on (so I don't get stuck in the driveway again), but since I only have 3 or 4 nuts per wheel on the rollers, I wanna buy all new one. Well, I don;t have $40 right now to spend on lug nuts...

Well, ordered some lug nuts. Went ahead and got the black ones though. Should look nice with the black wheels. Went ahead and mounted up the new wheels and tires, in case I need to back into the snow again. Here is a pic of it with the new wheels and tires put on. Sits a bit higher, and looks more badass already!

Haha! I have learned a whole lot through this. Its almost done though, just got alot of odds and ends to clear up, then shes ready for paint. If all goes REALLY well, I will have her ready by the end of next week. Unfortunately, the following weekend is Christmas, and the next weekend is New Years, so it looks like I will be getting her up for paint about the 8th of January.
I am getting really excited!

its a good thing to learn just remember to paint all jams first! my sharpe paint gun needs to get used more often ha ha ive ran out of things to paint arounmd here and worse thing is my dablaim truck looks like a pile of horsesh** all the primer on it and i aint fooled with it yet ha ha
hey u cant beat that! im no pro but as long as u learn how to paint and mix it and blend it its easy to learn. just keep a eye on him while he does it. i gotta hop off here gotta make a run over the mountain and pick up some white ........ u know ha ha
Well, going to order new calipers, rotors and master cylinder so my brother can bring them to me on Christmas. Just decided to do the whole thing since the brake pedal is a bit mushy and I have the time to do it all. I will most likely end up breaking the brake lines off in the old master cyl when I try to take them off (they're really rusty), so its likely I will have to replace those too.
And does anyone know if these trucks had ABS on the rear? It seems I have an ABS unit back there, but it looks to be bypassed. If it is really an ABS unit, I should probably get that hooked back up...

Oh! The hood, fenders and doors will be going for paint on Jan 8th though! I am SOOOOOO excited!!!! Just need to wetsand the primer, and finish up the doors! Going to order some paint sometime after Christmas. Going with Ford color (paint code: UJ) Sterling Grey Metallic. And, I will be using Napa paint. A local hot rod shop uses it, and I have seen it sprayed out really well, so I am hoping for the same on my truck!

Got the dash cleaned up to dye it. Decided to go with black, since the truck will be gunmetal, and the rest of the interior will be black and grey.
This is the dash before:

And the dash after:

I used SEM dye that I got off ebay on recommendation of a fellow diesel bomber. Not cheap, but definitely a good product. Covered very well, and looks like it will be pretty durable. the finish is perfect, and looks OEM. I love it! I will definitely be doing my door panels with this as well.
Also, I got the wire harnesses done for the tail lights. I used all new sockets and wire, and spliced it onto the old plugs (should have repinned them, but I didn't). Here is a picture of the start of it:

I also ordered blue LED's to replace the dash lights with, since i have it out. Going to be getting a price on the front half shaft repair (looks like a carrier is broke, or something). And next week, I will probably begin to put the interior in soon.
