1-2 hours to pull the cab, yea that's the easy part. The hard part is the 16 hrs and $4000 to install the lift that sucks.

i though people were pulling the 6.0 cabs in like 15 mins or so
You most certainly have this wrong. There are several bolts on the head that will not come out. You have to suspend those bolts with the head as you pull the head if you don't pull the cab or the motor. This is not like a cummins where you can pull a bolt and replace it with a stud and torque it. No, on a 6.0 the heads need to come off.

AS for pulling the cab in 15mins

you can swap the head bolts one at a time on the 6.0 without pullin the cab. It has been done. You either have to pull the AC box thingy, cant think of what its called , or just lossen the motor mounts and let the motor drop and twist a little.

Tilt front ends, FTW....

Too bad the only reason this won't work is insurance and government interference...

easy dodge guys, i had a 01 that i replaced the engine in and it was waaaay easier to lift the cab on the dodge to get to every thing and make the swap easier. it took like 45min to 1 hr to have it in the air. I have not done a ford, but i wouldn't hesitate. There really isnt a whole lot involved if you have been around wrenchin for a while. The hardest part is making your mind up to do it, digin in and gettin dirty. Or you can bitch and moan and wish for it to be done. I like easier, even if it is an extra step.

It is a job that is more intimidating to watch and think about than it is to actually do it.

We remove cabs all the time on heavy equipment....if the machine is designed to be taken apart, the job really is not difficult as it appears.

Still.....I feel sorry for the dealer techs these days. Doing that for flat rate? Glad it's not me.
