Neat yet sad vid...
:D This vid puts alot of things into perspective, my god really?! It amazes me how the engineers design this stuff like this and its considered a great idea. Sorry Ford guys but I like working on my stuff WITHout havin to take my truck 90% apart LMFAO ENJOY!
:c: |
Tell you what though: That was one FAST tech!! I want him when I have to pay by the hour. That dude flat moved!
Seriously, it is better to pull the cab on a lot of rigs when doing any serious engine work. Still seems just plain wrong to me though..... |
I thought head removal was the only reason for popping the cab. It does make engine work easier, but thats a lot more work to get to the easy part. I'll stick with my old mechanically reliable diesel.:ok1:

I hope it was under warranty ,second on the fast tech and pay by the hour thing.I didnt see the heads pulled, what he do?
|
Dang! I wish i could work that fast. But seriosly,What are the designers smoking when they design these trucks.:argh:Thats why i'm glad i have my old 12v.Plenty of room to work under the hood.:U:

Looks to me like the engineers were thinking pretty smart on the new Fords. Realistically, think how much easier it would be to work on a Dodge or GM if the cab came off that easy. From what a local Ford tech told me, it takes just a couple of hours to pull the cab. That sure beats being sprawled out over the fenders and radiator for 8 hours in my book.

screw that:booo:

X2, and easy enough to work on |
I was under the understanding that the cab had to be pulled to change out the turbos on the 6.4L also. As far as the labor pulling the cab, my buddy was just told 8-10 hours labor to pull the cab (same for putting it back on) of his 2004 6.0L to replace the head gaskets. Total labor for the entire job was approaching 30 hours and $2000.00. Diesel Power Magazine also quoted the $2000.00 labor cab pull a few issues back.

My 04 took like 4 hours to pull the cab not 8-10 and it can be done faster. And Ive heard that the 6.4s cabs are designed to come off in 1-2 hours of work
