did you use a lubricant with the clay bar. They make special lubricants, but meguairs #34 or glass cleaner will also work.

Used the bottle that came with it and kept it plenty wet. I read and re-read tryin to figure out what I was doin wrong. I just finally came to the conclusion that with no wax on the truck the bar doesn't work so well. I washed the truck down and dried it but at that time it had never had any wax used on it. That's different now though, it got it's first coat of wax last year after all that while I was tryin to get the clay streaks off of it.

My guess is you need to use more lube and/or don't do it in the sun. It doesn't matter is you have ever waxed your truck before or not.

I always have one hell of a time waxing my hood , I think its because its hot / Stays hot longer than the rest of the truck ,

I finally gave up on it cause i hate waiting and i use the ICE on my hood and Old School Arm Breaking Wax on the rest of the truck

I dont wax my roof ...So Kill me

Sounds like me, but I do the hood and roof too. Good old Turtle Wax. Ice only works good for me on the black plastic.

I use the Mother`s California Gold clay bar kit , use plenty of the instant detailer for lubrication .

Do small areas at a time , change direction often....left to right...front to back....until you feel the clay bar slipping across that area freely .

Knead the clay bar often also...tear it apart and then compress it into a ball .

When done claying an area , spray some instant detailer on and wipe off with a clean towel .

I also do the windows and the windshield , tear off a small piece of clay and swipe the wiperblades , toss that piece away .

Apply wax or polish of choice.....it`s an all day job...stock up on beer .

I like to cut my clay into 3 pieces and throw away each piece after I clay the truck with it. That way if I drop it on the ground I don't wast a whole clay bar.
